 Who Is Jesus?
Minimize

Bible Verse: "Who do you say that I am?  You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God."  Matthew 16:15-16

Bible Story Reference: Matthew 16:13-17, Mark 8:27-29, Luke 9:18-21

Main Idea: As Christians we believe the Bible gives many examples to help people discover who Jesus is.  Jesus is the Messiah, the special one sent by God.

Objectives: Children will:  become familiar with the stories that tell about Jesus as God's son; discover the meaning of the word Messiah; recognize that Jesus was not the Messiah people expected; be given the opportunity to explore who Jesus is to them.

Curriculum Materials:  Movie Station--The Secret Garden, The Little Prince, The Miracle Worker; The Face: Jesus in Art; Storytelling--Symbols of Faith, Seasons of Faith, The Family Story Bible; Computer--KidPix 4, Play & Learn Children's Bible, Walking in Their Sandals, Galilee Flyer, Art--The Life of Jesus, Seeing Jesus in His Own Words

 About PowerXpress
Minimize

Click to visit the PowerXpress website.

PowerXpress uses an 8-week program to get kids into the Bible stories.  With 8 stations: Music, Story, Cookery, Movie, Art, Computers, Science, and Games; your kids can explore the Bible in a hands-on, active approach.  Each unit requires some help, though!

We need:

Shepherds to lead the grade groups from station to station each Sunday.  A shepherd is an adult with Safe Sanctuary training who is willing to devote every Sunday to either the K-2 graders or 3-6 graders.  A shepherd greets children as they arrive, takes attendance, keeps kids on task, and actively participates in the station lesson.

Station Leaders to lead a station (you may pick your forte) for 2 back-to-back Sundays per unit.  The lesson plan and materials are provided for you!  All you need do is choose which lesson to use from the curriculum folder provided pertaining to what age group you have that Sunday.  Different lessons are avaliable for different age groups.  All materials are turned in after your station is completed!  Easy as pie!  As a Station Leader we encourage but do not require Safe Sanctuary training--this is only if you are a new recruit not if you plan on routinely being a Station Leader.
